Vladislav Plevčík at KVIFF: One Story, Two Exclusive Outfits from Our Tailoring House

07/23/2025
Back to the news list

This year at the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival, it wasn’t just the film Duchoň that captured attention – it was also its lead actor. Vladislav Plevčík, who portrayed Karol Duchoň – the Slovak singer known for his extraordinary voice and dramatic life story – wore bespoke outfits from our salon for both premieres.

KVIFF is not only a showcase of outstanding cinema but also a reflection of current fashion trends.

While last year saw Jiří Mádl and Vojtěch Vodochodský lighting up the red carpet in GALARD creations for the film Waves, this year’s 59th edition belonged to Duchoň, with Vladislav Plevčík in the spotlight. Directed by Peter Bebjak, the film offers a cinematic portrait of Karol Duchoň – a remarkable singer often referred to as the “Czechoslovak Tom Jones.” The film captures a life filled with fame, inner struggles, and a voice that transcended its time.

Premiere at the Grand Hall of Hotel Thermal: A Tuxedo Echoing Duchoň’s Dark Fate

For the gala premiere in the Grand Hall of Hotel Thermal, Vladislav wore a black made-to-measure tuxedo inspired by the silhouette of the 1970s – the era Duchoň lived and created in. The ensemble featured a jacket with wide lapels and relaxed-fit trousers. Modern edge was added with chunky-sole loafers.

The all-black colour palette reflected the darker chapters of the singer’s life, while a diamond brooch from Alo Diamonds lent the look a contemporary spark – a nod to the brilliance Duchoň might have become in modern music.

At his side stood his partner on screen and in life, actress Anna Gajdziková, in a gown by Patrik Haaz and jewellery by Korbička. It was their first public appearance as a stylish couple – one that drew the eyes of both the media and the audience.

Relaxed Elegance with an Italian Accent – for the Second Premiere and a Stroll Along the Colonnade

For the second screening, Vladislav appeared in another outfit from our Prague atelier – this time in the spirit of relaxed Italian elegance. The cut and styling once again drew inspiration from the ’70s, while remaining faithful to today’s interpretation of style.

A restrained palette and meticulous detailing allowed the actor to step out of character and be entirely himself. The look featured high-waisted white trousers with pleats, a white tank top, and a blue checked blazer with wide lapels. A silk neck scarf and beige suede shoes completed the outfit.

This kind of styling suits not only semi-formal occasions such as the second premiere but also many of the other moments KVIFF offers – from brunches and colonnade strolls to late-night cocktails.

We’re proud to have been part of the vibrant atmosphere in Karlovy Vary – and to have contributed our own tailored touch to its story once again this year.

Fancy an outfit worthy of the silver screen? We’d be delighted to tailor one just for you – in Brno or Prague. Book your appointment today.
